Boss BR-600 problem is that I am trying to save my first recorded song to my new Compaq Presario laptop in the WAV format. All went well following the instructions from the manual until the screen said "USB Export Idling...." and it has been like that for 1/2 hour now. Whats up with that and what to do about it? Please help. I am a frustrated beginner! CaptDenis Event: 06/10/2008 - 14:30 - 06/10/2008 - 15:24
From the depths of my home studio, let me give you some good old fashioned lyrics! By Singer Songwriter Billy LuFrances, Found True Love: My search for you is over, I have found true love. You are the one I would never find, just in time, you fit me like a glove. The beauty, charm and sparkle inside of every move you make, You know you keep my heart apounding, in founding what you take. CHOURUS: So now all I do is love you, a little bit more each day, you are in my dreams now girl, all I want is you to stay. You send my spirits soaring, yeah you move across my mind, the wind will now have you played apon, your smile so nice to find. Kings say you will be there, a Queen among all men, Share the gold within your heart and your circles may never end. CHORUS: So now all I do is love you, a little bit more each day, you are in my dreams now girl, all I want is you to stay. My search for you is over, I have found true love. You are the one I would never find, Now you sit as sweetly as a morning dove.
Over the past 12 months I have been focusing on learning my board(Roland VS2400CD) and also getting the sounds I want out of my instruments and amps. I have been working on one song that is still baffling me. It sounds great on every system except my PA system, where it sounds unlike commercial recordings. Though in the car, at home, everywhere else it seems to sound fine. I am not up to snuff on my compression skills and havent really come to grips with panning. I record and mix and try to get the levels perfect while recording each instrument. Anyone else run into this one song syndrome? What did you do to solve the problem? I suspect a lot of the problem is not knowing the board completely, though a lot seems to come from unfimiliarity with what makes a commercial recording sparkle and have that radio playable sound(other than the $50,000 worth of recording time). I figure once I learn my board and get the sound I want for one song, every other song will be a snap as I will have that basic 80's type of sound I am looking for(think Alan Parsons, Asia, Toto).

I have an O'hagan Flying V guitar that I purchased new in the 80's from a local music store. This guitar I've never seen another one like it - silverburst finish - has a Kahler type tremolo system that I don't believe Any info you can supply on this O'Hagan guitar would be appreciated. Thanks much.
I found this cool video online. Doesn't have much to do with home studio recording. But I thought some of my fellow musicians could appreciate the talent this guy has. Wow. Some mad skills. Check out the video here: http://www.vidzest.com/media/196/Thea_Most_Amazing_Drum_Solo_Ever_to_Exi...
I've been noticing recently that cassette tapes, still sealed in their original packaging are very collectible. People are paying good money for these. Some items are going for over a hundred bucks. Wow. Wish I had saved some of mine instead of taping albums on them. I have tons of cassettes, but they all have been used and aren't in their original shrinkwrap. But who knows, maybe these will be worth some money in the future. Gotta love ebay!
I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with volume control after you bounce a series of track? For example- I laid down my drum tracks on tracks 1-7 and then set the volume levels, then bounced. When I recorded the next set of tracks and adjusted the volume, the volume from the drum track adjusted. I thought after a track was bounced it was pretty much set. Is there something I am missing? What ever help anyone can give will be greatly appreciate. Thanks!!!!!!
We have just launched a new online service for music producers and singers, and I believe it's the first of it's kind. VocalTuning allows producers to send their vocal files and get them sent back perfectly tuned. We can take any vocalist (even someone who is completely tone deaf) and make them sound like a strong singer. I’m sure a lot of Home Studio Tips readers would find this an interesting feature, especially those who produce music themselves.
