DAW Power SupplyA while back I blew the power supply on my DAW. This was extremely scary as I had almost a complete CD on the hard drive. Nothing was backed up. I purchased a new power supply and slapped it in. Everything seemed to boot up fine, then I get a windows error. Ugh. I got into safe mode and was able to see that my songs were still there, whew. I was able to copy everything over to another machine via my network. Once I got the songs on the other machine, I felt a helluva lot better. Especially since one of the drives is now toast. So now I have all of my songs stored safely in two places. Plus I've been burning them on to cd's until I can fully recover from this ordeal. I realized that the hard drive was toast because it would never respond and when I tried to do a scan disc it took like 2 days and was clicking. So, my solution is going to be, yank the bad hard drive, set the jumpers on the main hard drive for a 1 drive system. Once I do that I should be back in action. Although I'll lose about 60 gigs of storage on that machine.
