Expert Suggestions on an Advanced Guitar Recording SetupOver at recording.org they have a great music recording forum. I found this thread today (about two hours ago) and I haven't stopped reading it. It has got to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. It's basically some guy, we'll call him JP22. JP22 is looking for "expert" advice on recording guitar. But for some reason, JP22 just insults everyone and doesn't want to hear anyone else's advice or ideas. It goes on for thirteen pages. Classic! The JP22 thread was so great that it has been spreading to other recording forums. These are the things old wives tales are made up of. Urban legend, so to speak. JP22 is like a recording studio idiot savant, sans savant. The great thing about home studio recording is, everyone does things differently. Everyone has their own way of doing things. Something that doesn't work for you, may work wonderfully for someone else. It's called experimenting. Being open minded and open to other peoples ideas and suggestions is a great way to learn new things. I almost feel sorry for JP22. Throughout the thread he continually points out how he "created" the thread. Like that's supposed to actually mean something? The reactions of others is great. It's like a comedy act. Make sure you read this JP22 thread at recording.org. It is hillarious. Set aside an hour or two. Hell, I'm suddenly a fan of their forum! I'll start reading daily if all of the recording threads are this good.
