help me setup a recording studio from scratch please!

Hey all

 I have an apple mac , thats it.

 i need direction as to where to go from here. Iv had a boss BR-600 but want to create that home studio enviroment, thats where i need your help.

 what im looking for is a software package for my mac and a means of connectiong my guitar to my mac via some sort of interface.

I have loads of song that i feel i need to get onto disk and want to get the best results as possible from a home studio.

Building a home recording studio can be very complicated.  There are a bunch of variables that you need to account for when deciding what gear to buy.  Asking questions of yourself about what you intend to do with your home studio and coming up with a budget before you start shopping can help you save a ton of money. 

 You can get started with a decent home studio for about $1750.00, assuming you have a computer capable of running the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software.  You'll need an interface, microphones, monitors and cables.  Be sure you want to start down this road because once you start a common illness call "Gear Lust" will set in very quickly and you find yourself spending thousands of dollars.
