Lots of people think that they need a brand new Mac G5 and Pro Tools and expensive mics to make decent recordings. While all of these things would be ideal, they are not necessary.

For instance, my setup is a pc that has an AMD 350 processor, 512 ram and some 80 gig hard drives. Nothing special. Yes, I am running Pro Tools as well as some great mics.  read more »

If Home Studio Tips was a human, it would have cake all over it's face. I'm proud to announce that Home Studio Tips is one year old today!! It has been an exciting year, to say the least.

I'm hoping the next year has just as many interesting things as the last year. I plan on bringing you more of the latest technology, tips and tricks.

TC Helicon has created Harmony4, for guys like me, who aren't the greatest vocalist on the planet. Harmony parts can make or break a song. This program allows you to create great harmony parts during mixing.

It has MIDI controlled and auto control and includes humanization features and pitch detection. Harmony4 creates convincing virtual harmony tracks from a single vocal. Also, includes special effects.
