I sometimes read the Pro Tools user groups. I noticed they have a tab for plugins. I checked it out and there was some pretty good stuff there. If you haven't already go check out the plugins page. Pro Tools user groups is a great resource to help you on your journey.
It's finally becoming clear to me that it's the end of the line for my Pro Tools Digi001. The popular card and rack combination which got many ProTools users started on the ProTools ladder has been discontinued. The Digi001's future was already in doubt when Digi announced it was not compatible with the new Apple G5 due to its 5v PCI power requirements. read more »
A while back I blew the power supply on my DAW. This was extremely scary as I had almost a complete CD on the hard drive. Nothing was backed up. I purchased a new power supply and slapped it in. Everything seemed to boot up fine, then I get a windows error. Ugh. I got into safe mode and was able to see that my songs were still there, whew. read more »
In my studio I have two PC's. One that is my DAW and one that does everything else. They are both slammin with hard drive space. I'm one of those guys that loves to play guitar or bass along with my favorite CD's. I like to pretend I'm in the band. But up until now, it's always been a hassle finding the songs I want to play along with. What I did was turn my PC into a giant iPod. I went thru all of my mp3s and all of my CDs and loaded on all the songs I love to play along with. read more »
