I've been having a very hard time recording vocals on the BR600. I currently have an Audio Technica 2020 mic and run it through a small mic pre-amp and into the BR600. It keeps peaking out (red light flashes on the level control) and doesn't allow me to get a good level on the finished vocal track. I also sometimes have the same problem with guitar/bass recordings. What am I doing wrong?? Should I be recording vocals/guitr/bass through a mixer??
I'm also wondering if my room is too muffled. I have carpet hanging on the wall directly behind the mic. Should I be recording vocals in a room with better accoustics, like a bathroom??
Any input/help would be appriciated!

hi, if you keep going into
hi, if you keep going into the red while recording obviously you want to turn the recording level down. usually when i record the maximum the level meter goes up is 4 bars. i think 5 bars is pushing it, and 6, well your going to start clipping. you can also adjust/increase the volume in the mastering settings after.
